Chess and/or Board Game Part-time Instructors
Teach chess and/or board games in schools as a coach/instructor. This is an excellent opportunity for retirees, former teachers, early childhood instructors or college students to earn excellent pay. You should have some chess and/or board game skills but do not have to be a strong player. Teaching skills are a plus because you will be working mostly with students in grades K-8th.
You may be required to put in some non-paid and paid training including visiting chess and/or board game classes and tournaments and learning to use our materials. Pay starts at $25.00 per class hour, after training. Most classes start between 2:30 and 4:00 PM Monday — Friday during the school year and last for an hour. Some classes may be available in the morning as well, including summer camps. New coaches usually teach a class per day, 2-4 days per week depending on their level of experience and training.
Other prerequisites:
You must have a working car and be 100% dependable
You must have a cell phone
You must have email and Internet access at home
You must be able to pass a background security check
You should enjoy teaching/working with young children
Please email your resume to ChessRVA@comcast.net or BoardGameChampions@comcast.net and a summary of your chess and/or board game experience — how did you get started, where did you play and what is your current level of play?
